From November 10 to 12, the Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications took place as a fully virtual event for the first time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The three-day congress remained a key platform for discussing the latest developments in wireless communication technologies with a focus on industrial and IoT applications.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora, founder of STACKFORCE, scientific advisor, and co-organizer of the event, opened the congress program each day and participated in several expert panels to discuss current trends and future perspectives in wireless technologies.

A key highlight from STACKFORCE’s perspective was the presentation by CEO David Rahusen, titled
“Multi-Protocol Solutions for LPWAN”, held on November 11 as part of Session 6 – LPWAN I.

Presentation Focus:

  • Overview of major LPWAN technologies such as LoRaWAN®, mioty®, NB-IoT, and Wireless M-Bus
  • Comparison of their technical characteristics and application areas
  • Challenges of choosing and maintaining a single protocol
  • Benefits of multi-protocol stack solutions for modular, maintainable, and future-proof IoT products

LPWAN Panel discussion

The talk was followed by an LPWAN panel discussion, during which industry experts debated interoperability, protocol strategies, and market development.

STACKFORCE would like to thank the organizers and all participants for a successful exchange and looks forward to the next Wireless Congress – ideally as an in-person event again.
